Why prescribe	Prescribed as a highly effective oral contraceptive. In addition, it reduces the risk of ovarian and endometrial cancer, ovarian cysts and fibrocystic breast disease. It also helps to regularize cycles and reduce the incidence of anemia, premenstrual tension and pain during periods. It helps to improve endometriosis and pelvic inflammatory disease.

Contra Indications	Inadvisable for the patient with undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, severe arterial disease, family history of high lipids; liver adenoma; inherited or acquired disorders of certain enzymes (porphyria); history of breast cancer; liver impairment; blood clot disorders; breast cancer; estrogen-dependent tumor; smoking, patients with diabetes complications; during pregnancy, migraine, high blood pressure, stroke ; gallstones; acute kidney failure (uremia) and a low platelet count, prior to major surgery; breast feeding during first 6 months after delivery.
Storage Conditions	Store at room temperature and in airtight container.

Warnings and Precautions

Caution should be exercised in condition like sex-steroid dependent cancer, past ectopic pregnancy, indigestion, ovarian cysts, active liver disease, jaundice, heart or kidney impairment; diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, migraine, depression,lactation, conditions exacerbated by fluid retention; increased level of calcium in blood, gall bladder diseases, high lipid levels, patients at risk of venous blood clot, breast cancer, preexisting Fibroid Tumors of the Uterus and benign tumor of the liver. Missed pills and interaction with other drugs may require additional contraceptive precautions.
