Why prescribe	Prescribed to treat epilepsy, panic disorder,typical and atypical absences, infantile myoclonic, myoclonic and akinetic seizures.
Recommended Dosage	Epilepsy- Adult- Initial dose- 1 mg given at night for 4 nights. The dose may increase 2-4 weeks as per condition. Maximum dose- 20 mg once daily. Elderly- Initial dose- 500 mcg at night for 4 nights. The dose may increse 2-4 weeks as per condition. Panic disorder- Adult- Initial dose- 250 mcg twice daily. The dose may increase up to 1 mg daily as per condition. Maximum dose- 4 mg daily.
Directions of Usage	Should be taken with or without food.
Route of administration	ORAL
Contra Indications	Inadvisable for patients with hypersensitivity , acute pulmonary insufficiency, acute narrow angle glaucoma.
Storage Conditions	Store at room temperature.

Warnings and Precautions

Caution should be exercised in conditions like chronic pulmonary insufficiency, porphyria, spinal or cerebellar ataxia, history of alcohol or drug addiction, and depression, increased risk of suicidal behaviour and ideation.
