Menabol Tablet is used in the treatment of hereditary angioedema. It prevents and decreases the episodes of symptoms such as swelling of the face, extremities, genitals, bowel wall, and throat.

Why prescribe	Prescribed as an anabolic steroid used to treat vascular manifestations of Behcets syndrome, hereditary angioedema, osteopetrosis, anaemia, breast cancer in postmenopausal women.
Recommended Dosage	Vascular manifestations of Behcet's syndrome- Adult- 10 mg daily. Hereditary angioedema- Adult- Initial Dose- 2.5-10 mg daily. Child- less than 6 year- 1 mg daily, 6-12 year- Maximum up to 2 mg daily.
Directions of Usage	As directed by the physician.
Route of administration	ORAL
Contra Indications	Inadvisable for patients with carcinoma of prostate or breast in men, hypercalcaemia, hypercalciuria, porphyria severe hepatic impairment.
Storage Conditions	As mentioned on the label.

Warnings and Precautions

Caution should be exercised in condition like history of Peliosis hepatis, premature epiphyseal closure, cholestatic jaundice, virilism, impotence, priapism, testicular atrophy, gynaecomastia, prostatic hyperplasia, decreased libido, hirsutism, menstrual irregularities, oedema, acne, hepatic necrosis, hepatocellular carcinoma

vomiting and diarrhea. Blood- Bleeding in patients on concomitant anticoagulant (blood thinner) therapy. Larynx- Deepening of the voice in women. Hair- Abnormal hair growth over the body surface and male pattern baldness in women. Skin- Pimples (especially in women and prepubertal boys). Musculoskeletal- Premature closure of epiphyses in children.
